Today our Local 9-Day Sahara Desert Trip From Marrakesh will continue by picking you up at your accommodation and leaving Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains, which offer great photo opportunities and Berber villages.
You then continue your tour to the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, an exotic, fortified Kasbah. Visit the kasbah. After lunch in the kasbah, we continue our drive to Ouarzazate, with the option of visiting the film studio. After breakfast in Riad, we set off for our Moroccan Sahara Desert at Merzouga. Along the way, will have few breaks, we’ll see numerous Berber villages. We’ll stop in the Todra Gorge for a stroll before continuing on our way to take time out for a camel ride, to enjoy the view of the sunset. When we arrive at the hotel in Merzouga, we have Berber whisky “tea” and you prepare for your hike, Local music around the fire under the stars to spend the night in Luxury Camp tents in the heart of the Morocco desert
Before sunrise, you rise to take part in the fantastic sunrise. After that, you have breakfast and get ready to leave Merzouga for Fez. On our long drive, we enjoy the natural landscape of the Ziz Valley. We’ll stop to admire some impressive natural views, then continue on to the town of Midelt. Further on, we reach the beautiful town of Ifran, before arriving in Fez.

Fez is considered to be the oldest city in Morocco, so it’s a real opportunity to immerse yourself in it and get to know it well. This day will be dedicated to a journey back in time. Our local guide will show you its secrets and provide you with plenty of information about this city of holly.
You’ll visit the city’s historical, cultural and heritage sites, and enjoy a stroll through the narrow streets of the old medina. You’ll insist on visiting the most important sites, such as the ancient University of Qarawiyin, the Jewish Square and the Royal Palace ….

Getting lost in the narrow, unfrequented streets of Chefchaouen’s old town, with cats posing in front of incredibly sturdy indigo doors, many of which still retain their traditional old look… and elderly men in hooded coats, walking up and down the often blue streets and stairs, all in a pleasantly gentle setting.

After Breakfast we drive from Marrakech by our vehicle for 1h30 drive south up the Moulay Brahim Gorges, and the berber village of Asni very popular for its weekly market every saturday then to Imlil Crossing the green valley that stays fresh and lush even during the hottest days of the summer. The small village Imlil at the foothills of the highest mountains in Morocco Toubkal mountain, is the place to hire mountain guides and mules due its unique possition and its connection to several berber villages and a very popular start point of treks and hikes for climb Toubkal big mountain. Here in Imlil leave the vehicle and start a walk for around 1h towards the south to the Berber village of Aroumd (Aremd) (1843m) passing the hamlets of ait souka, Targa, and Imoula, up and down the stark slopes, the jagged Western High Atlas peaks of the Toubkal Massif before us – Jbels Aguelzim (3547m), Aksouâl (3847m) and the Adrar Adj (3122m) watching us all the way. We shall stop at Aroumd to visit this rather singular village in the Assif Aït Mizane Valley, built seemingly house upon house on a large moraine spur, overlooking ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn and vegetables and always surrounded by almond and walnut trees. We thence carry on for another Half an Hour to get to our lunch wish will be served on top of beautiful terrace among a berber familly in the village, Afterwards you can take a short walk before we return to Marrakech.
Today you’re free to explore Marrakech at your own pace. And take in local life wandering past vendors selling everything from doughnuts to fabrics, meander through the maze-like markets, where vendors call out to sell their wares, and enjoy the sounds and scents of the souks.
