After a hearty breakfast, you set off at 9:30 a.m. towards the south and the Atlas Mountains. The magnificent, steep road from Marrakech to Ouarzazate takes you over the Tichka pass at 2260 m altitude, before branching off towards the village of Télouet, where you have lunch.
The early afternoon is devoted to a visit to the Kasbah du Glaoui before descending along the Oued Ounila towards the famous Ksar of Aït-Ben-haddou. A UNESCO World Heritage site, this fortified village is an exceptional example of southern Moroccan architecture.
Once you’ve completed your visit, you’ll head back to the Dades Gorges, where you’ll have dinner and spend the night in an inn with a superb view.

After leaving the Dades Gorges, your route takes you to the small town of Tinejdad, where you visit one of Morocco’s finest museums.
Your route now takes you through increasingly arid landscapes, interspersed with a few palm groves reminiscent of the oases in famous fairy tales. Lunch en route, arriving in Merzouga in the afternoon.

The day trip starts with an early pick up from the airport or your accommodation in Fes. Then we depart to visit Meknes, the Ismaili capital and also one of the imperial cities of Morocco. In which we visit : Bab AlMansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary and also the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Free time for lunch. Thereafter, we drive 30 km away from Meknes to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. It is well preserved, as it is recognized as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. It has many beautiful mosaics scattered here and there, along with ancient pillars and archways. Later drive to Chefchaouen the blue city.
Getting lost in the narrow, unfrequented streets of Chefchaouen’s old town, with cats posing in front of incredibly sturdy indigo doors, many of which still retain their traditional old look… and elderly men in hooded coats, walking up and down the often blue streets and stairs, all in a pleasantly gentle setting.

Pass through El Jadida, a small port city, formerly controlled by the Portuguese, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Afterwards we will reach the seaside town of Essaouira, this UNESCO World Heritage listed city. The windswept fishing port, with broad beaches and ancient walled medina with ramparts built into the cliffs has long been a popular destination. With its relaxed feel, take in the small but lively medina, stroll along the ramparts or beach, or visit the port to see the daily catch. Overnight in standard accommodation.

After driving hours approx. 5 hours, via Tizi n Testmountain pass.
Head north-east out of Taroudant to join the road across the High Atlas mountains.
The mountain road is single track for the most part and in rough condition. Concentration is required as your drivers and buses also use the route.The mountain pass, the Tizi n Test, sits at 2100m with far reaching views to the south.
The descent from the pass is less steep yet still very winding. The scenery becomesmore lush, and you will descend via the villages of Ijoukak and Ouirgane, and alpine peaks.
